Now you can get critical information instantly to the millions of deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) individuals that travel the United States each year. Emergency alerts. Flight delays and cancellations. Gate changes. It's the kind of vital information that doesn't always make it to DHH travelers unless they seek it out on a screen.

Features

Our new Airport Messaging Service* provides you and your deaf and hard-of-hearing customers with the following features:

Proprietary Software
Our software solution integrates with your airport’s flight information sources and automatically sends messages related specifically to individual travelers. It also provides a platform for airport personnel to use to quickly locate registered travelers for routine courtesy pages, and to send manual alerts in the event of an emergency.

Nationwide paging and devices
Many travelers today have their own personal devices, e.g. Blackberry®, Sidekick®, PDA, etc. Through our partnership with SkyTel, we supply 1- and 2-way pagers for travelers who do not carry a handheld device of their own. The service has the ability to send messages anywhere across the country to travelers who originate at your airport.

Automatic Flight Notification
Our AMS continually monitors your airport’s flight information source — and, if included, the latest flight status package from OAG/Back Aviation Solutions — for any changes in schedule, e.g. flight delays or cancellations, gate changes — and automatically sends the new information to the traveler when it occurs.

Customer Service Desk
Registration for the service, as well as the distribution of SkyTel pagers, is handled at customer service desks located on-site in the terminal buildings. Staff is managed by Hailer Technologies.

Collection of pagers
As travelers register for the service and pick up their pagers at the HT customer service desk, they have the option to drop the pagers into supplied collection boxes at each gate prior to their departure, or travel with them and return the pagers upon final arrival. Hailer Technologies obtains and keeps a valid credit card on file for each registered traveler, and will charge for devices not returned within a specific amount of time.

Detailed reporting
Detailed reports will be provided monthly, showing usage on a number of levels. SkyTel’s 2-way paging devices have the ability to send return confirmation of messages being read.

Peace of mind
In the end, what matters most to deaf or hard-of-hearing travelers (to hearing travelers, as well) is knowing that information will always be available to them. With the addition of our Airport Messaging Service, you will be able to deliver specific information directly to your DHH customers and provide a much-less-stressful airport experience.
